Bankruptcy Court Approves Yellow Corp. Terminal Sales as K-Pop Video "Yellow" Surges Online

Yellow Corp. Terminal Sales Advance Amid Bankruptcy

A U.S. bankruptcy court has approved the sale of seven additional terminals owned by Yellow Corp., marking another significant step in the liquidation of the former trucking giant’s assets. Judge Craig Goldblatt of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware authorized these private sales on May 14, totaling approximately $14.25 million. The largest transaction involved the sale of an 80-door terminal in Pontiac, Michigan, to M Way Holding, an affiliate of Moon Star Express, for $10 million. Other notable deals included:

  • Baldor’s purchase of a terminal in Westbrook, Maine, for $1.55 million
  • Borg Enterprises’ acquisition of a Fargo, North Dakota terminal for $1.6 million
  • Additional terminals sold in Ohio, Alabama, Illinois, and Kansas, with prices ranging from $25,000 to $480,000

These sales are part of Yellow’s ongoing efforts to pay off creditors following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2023. The company, once the nation’s third-largest less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier, has now sold over 180 terminals, raising more than $2.2 billion since the liquidation process began.

Saia’s Terminal Acquisitions Delayed

A separate deal for three terminal leases—located in Orlando, Florida; Deer Park, New York; and Calexico, California—was set to be acquired by Saia Inc. for $6.5 million. However, approval for this transaction was delayed due to an intervention from insurance provider Chubb Cos. The court is scheduled to review the revised agreement on May 29. Saia has been a major buyer in Yellow’s terminal auctions, having acquired 31 sites since late 2023, positioning itself as a leading national LTL carrier.

Industry analysts note that the dispersal of Yellow’s network is accelerating consolidation in the LTL sector, with major carriers acquiring assets to bolster their market presence and operational efficiency. As of May 2025, Yellow’s estate still holds approximately 79 terminals pending sale.

K-Pop Video "Yellow" by Treasure Breaks Records

In entertainment news, the K-pop group Treasure has achieved a major milestone with their music video "Yellow." The video has garnered 50 million views on YouTube in just 18 days, making it one of the fastest-growing K-pop videos of 2025. This rapid rise highlights Treasure’s growing global influence and the continued expansion of K-pop’s international audience.

Outlook

As Yellow Corp. continues to liquidate its remaining assets, industry experts anticipate further consolidation in the LTL sector through 2025 and beyond, with leading carriers seeking to expand their networks in key markets. Meanwhile, the success of "Yellow" underscores the ongoing dominance of K-pop in the global music scene.
