Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates Modern Patna Airport Terminal, Launches Key Infrastructure Projects Across India

New Delhi, May 30, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent actions have placed infrastructure development and governance at the forefront of the national agenda. On May 29, Modi inaugurated the new terminal building at Patna’s Jayprakash Narayan International Airport, fulfilling a longstanding demand of Bihar’s residents for modernized air travel facilities. The ₹1,200 crore terminal spans over 65,150 square meters, is equipped with 64 check-in counters, nine Automatic Tray Retrieval Systems, five aerobridges, and a multilevel car parking facility for 1,100 vehicles. It is designed to handle 3,000 passengers during peak hours and up to one crore passengers annually.

During the ceremony, Modi was accompanied by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and senior civil aviation officials. He also laid the foundation stone for a new civil enclave at Bihta Airport, a ₹1,410 crore project aimed at serving Patna’s expanding educational and residential zones. Together, these projects represent a combined investment of ₹2,610 crore, promising a world-class experience for air travelers and boosting Bihar’s connectivity.

Following the inauguration, Modi led a five-kilometer roadshow through Patna, where thousands lined the streets and showered flower petals on his convoy. The route featured 32 stages set up by local organizations, with women and students participating in the welcome. The roadshow concluded at the BJP state headquarters, where Modi met with party leaders to discuss preparations for the upcoming state Assembly elections.

In the past week, Modi also addressed public meetings in West Bengal, highlighting the NDA government’s achievements and criticizing opposition governance in the state. He chaired a PRAGATI meeting to review infrastructure projects worth over ₹62,000 crore, emphasizing timely completion and addressing issues related to the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). Additionally, Modi congratulated the people of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh on Cabinet-approved projects aimed at enhancing growth and sustainability.

Modi’s recent activities reflect a concerted push to promote national development, improve infrastructure, and reinforce good governance through the NDA alliance.
